If you have been witness to the Awesomeness that is Neil Patrick Harris as Barney Stinson on CBS’s How I Met Your Mother then you already know of his greatness. I really enjoy that show, it’s sort of a Friends-ish show, only in a bar instead of a coffee shop. I identify entirely too much with the Ted Mosby character, but that’s neither here nor there. Back last year during the excruciating writer’s strike was wreaking havoc with the shortening of shows that we’ll forever be cut short on (sigh), Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Firefly (also helped in the writing of both Toy Story and Titan A.E.)) brought to creation Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog starring Neil Patrick Harris in the titular role and Nathan Fillion as his nemesis Captain Hammer. The three act (webisode) internet-launched serial is one of the most fresh and amazingly awesome things I’ve seen in a very long time. You can watch it over at HULU.com if you’re in the U.S. Lucky for all as of last month it is now available through iTunes or Amazon. A musical superhero webisode masterpiece, from the perspective of the villain, who happens to have a Ph.D. in horribleness!
