Ok, today we have the lead singer of the Barenaked Ladies (Steven Page) singing a song he wrote called “War On Drugs”, which is really about mental illness and very poignant, I never really gave it its due until seeing them perform this live and it was had an impact on me – as a song – and also the words really spoke to me for the first time at how deep a song it was. It was always previously skipped when playing the album, but not so after that concert. Today Page was arrested on drug charges. You can read more about it HERE if you’d like. Alanis might refer to this as irony, even literary irony. It doesn’t change the fact that it’s still a good song, and from now on there will be even more thought when listening to this song. sheesh.
